Arthur founded DCL in 1993. This followed four years in the recruitment industry and before that a further three years working in mainly technical sales for a major systems integrator. It is Arthur’s first job however working as a technician for P&P which he looks back with fondness, “P&P became a seminal IT company in the 1990s and I was one of their first ever employees at a time when they were still operating from home. This has become a source of inspiration to me.”
Arthur is passionate about the recruitment business and he’s passionate about his team at DCL, “we have a remarkably low attrition rate and that’s because we work as a partnership. We’re all shareholders, we have a flat management structure and I encourage people to take responsibility. We also all get on really well and that’s important.” Arthur believes that that’s why DCL’s clients like the way it operates, “our clients appreciate our honesty and impartiality. If there’s something that we either can’t do or we wouldn’t recommend, we’re not frightened to say so. We are a client-focussed company and we’ll leave no stone unturned in our pursuit of excellence.” Arthur also points to a very low ‘CV to Interview’ ratio and an equally low ‘Interview to Offer’ ratio, “our clients know that anybody coming from DCL will be good.”
