Polycom Announces New Open SIP Phones and Supporting Cloud Service to Meet the Needs of Modern Telephony
Polycom, a part of Plantronics, today announced the availability of its updated line of VVX Series Business IP Phones. The VVX x50 portfolio offers service provider partners a breakthrough in the balance between affordability and features. Model by model, the next-generation desktop phones marry Polycom’s legendary audio performance and proven quality with a more robust feature set than comparable models from other providers. Leading ITSPs 8x8 and thevoicefactory have certified the VVX x50 line and are offering to customers starting today.
"As a global communications leader, 8x8 provides companies of all sizes with solutions that allow their employees to communicate and collaborate effectively. The exceptional customer experience that results from transforming communication norms is driving strong adoption for our integrated cloud solution for voice, meetings, collaboration and contact centre,” said Samuel Wilson, SVP of Small Business & eCommerce. "We are excited to be one of the first to have Polycom’s VVX x50 Series available now. Polycom's legendary audio quality combined with 8x8's superior voice quality gives companies' employees and customers an unparalleled communications experience."
“thevoicefactory, an Evolve IP company, immediately recognised the value the new Polycom VVX x50 handsets would deliver to our partners and their customers when we were first introduced to the new range,” commented Paul Harrison, MD at thevoicefactory. “The exceptional levels of advanced audio features and build quality we expect from Polycom, at the very competitive price-points, in association with our market leading Hosted UC platform, make for a very compelling solution offering. Full TVF interop and Integration testing has been conducted successfully and we have started promoting the handsets to ensure our partners are fully ready to take advantage of the initial handset shipments.”
In addition to the sleek new VVX phone series, Polycom Device Management Service for Service Providers (PDMS-SP) is now available. This cloud service streamlines and simplifies provisioning, management and troubleshooting for service providers by integrating extensive capabilities into their own processes and dashboards.
“Based on great feedback from our service provider partners and end customers, Polycom developed the new VVX x50 Series with quality, value, and management in mind,” said Tarun Loomba, executive vice president, Product and Solutions Management at Plantronics. “The new, sleek design delivers a great customer experience with premier audio quality at the right price for partners and customers. By using the same unified communications (UC) software as in previous VVX phones, Service Providers, like 8x8 and TVF, have a simpler and shorter certification process to get to market, and we are seeing this already.”
