Next Generation Data (NGD) has announced this week its hyperscale data centre near Newport, South Wales is now connected to the Global Cloud Xchange (GCX) network, a privately-owned next generation network with extensive global reach and unsurpassed coverage throughout Asia Pacific and the Middle East.
Stefano Mazzitelli, President of Europe & USA, GCX said, “NGD’s world class data centre and its direct connections to major hyperscale cloud services will be of real interest to our enterprise customers whose digital transformation is underpinned by Cloud services like those hosted in NGD.”
“Our network enables some of the fastest routes between content and the booming Internet markets in India and South East Asia, delivering a better experience to users. OTTs and content owners gain a significant network advantage with the ability to deliver content efficiently to 100% of Internet users in India and currently more than 50% in South East Asia. At the same time, our enterprise customers will have fast, direct access via our CLOUD X Fusion product into some of the most important Cloud platforms in Europe.”
Commented Justin Jenkins, Managing Director, Next Generation Data: “Our partnership with Global Cloud Xchange is in line with NGD’s ongoing strategy of providing customers with the widest possible choice of high speed, low latency connectivity solutions while also ensuring maximum network geo-diversity. We are sure our customers will welcome this exciting new initiative and we look forward to a mutually advantageous relationship with this innovative network provider.”
GCX offers a comprehensive portfolio of connectivity solutions customised for carriers, enterprises and new media companies. The company owns the world’s largest private undersea cable system, which spans over 68,000 route km. Integrated with GCX’s other network and connectivity solutions, this provides customers worldwide with a robust Global Service Delivery Platform.
A key strategic focus of GCX is the connection of emerging markets such as India and South East Asia to established markets in Europe and North America, delivering ultra-high bandwidth services up to 100Gbps for facilitating the mass movement of Internet traffic, OTT content, and enterprise data and cloud computing services.
