American cybersecurity business to expand Manchester operations
Global cybersecurity consultancy, Coalfire, is investing in a 5,500sq ft office space in City Tower.
Manchester is its only major base outside of America and it’s planning to expand staff numbers in the city by 50%, to 50, over the next 18 months.
“Awareness of cybersecurity and data protection issues has grown rapidly in the last decade, which has undoubtedly been a key factor in our success to date. As that trend continues, we’re well-placed to build further momentum by helping more businesses sure up their cyber defences,” explained Andy Barratt, Coalfire’s Managing Director for UK & Europe.
“Manchester’s digital strengths and international connectivity make it the perfect home for a growing, tech-focused business. A fantastic new space in one of the city’s most iconic buildings is the perfect move for us as we look to grow the size of our team and continue building the business here at pace.”
The company will move into the space early next year.
“The UK has become a second home to us as we see continued demand from our customers to provide global support. We are partnering with a host of rapidly expanding, cyber-aware businesses in the region, many of which have operations in the US, so we see it as integral to our ability to act as an international advisor both now and in the future,” added Tom McAndrew, CEO at Coalfire.
